The three creators of the next generation of creations chose this new gravis.
MAKE MORE PROGRESS.

Three people were chosen to create the next generation of creations,
New Gravis.

Skating, surfing, art, and music. Based on street culture, "gravis" has continued to create numerous innovative products. In 2020, Gravis released the successor to last year's much-talked-about ODJICK. This time, the next generation of creators who continue to take on new challenges, just as "GRAVIS" continues to evolve, have been called together. How will the hybrid shoes designed with authentic uppers and lightweight outsoles resonate with them and lead to the next step? We will introduce them with style samples.

Both fashion and music,
Diversity is important, not either/or.

I asked him to choose a wallaby from the Gravis line of products.

SIRUP:I have always liked the shape of wallabies and have worn them quite a bit. So, I decided to go with this model from Gravis. The design is classic, but they are comfortable like sneakers. And they are easy to move around in. Also, the uppers and rubber soles have a street style element to them, so I thought they would be easy to incorporate.

I have the image of SIRUP wearing neutral colors like today.

SIRUP:Between classy and rough, between mode and street... you may like the atmosphere that is filled with such diversity. In that sense, these shoes have a mood that cannot be summed up in one word. I had heard about them from my friends, and now that I've actually tried them on, I feel right at home in both the design and the comfort.

Do you think diversity is a key word in your songwriting?

SIRUP:That's exactly right. One of my themes, not limited to clothing, is to find a sense of balance in the interesting coexistence of different things and the expansion of new values. If I can combine and express things that have been contrasted until now, I think it will be a new landscape.

I see. Also, SIRUP's music seems realistic in a good way.

SIRUP:Maybe it is because I create music based on personal experiences and sensations. Even if it sounds abstract, I have a definite story inside me. And I don't follow trends.

Do you pay attention to fashion trends?

SIRUP:The clothes I am wearing today from Children of the Discordance are not only well-designed, but I also sympathize with their background of remaking vintage clothes and their sustainable efforts. So, I like clothes with a story behind them. Also, I often wear clothes made by my friends.

You have released another EP this year. What are your plans for the future in music?

SIRUP:I don't have a clear goal in mind, but I sometimes catch a glimpse of a moment during production when my possibilities suddenly expand. Therefore, rather than deciding from the beginning, "Let's go there," I would rather cherish the spontaneous, on-the-spot experience.

You mean an improvised image that is not a scheduled event.

SIRUP:That's right. Recently, I have been collaborating with an increasing number of overseas artists, and my field has expanded more than I had imagined. Now, how I will deliver my sound to the world...it is an unknown quantity, and that is why it is always fun.
