Born in 2000, Kataoka made his first appearance at the age of 3 in "Nendo-Dojoji" at the Osaka Shochikuza Theater, and the following year made his first stage appearance under the name Kataoka Chinnosuke I in "Shoei-Shimadai" at the Kabuki-za Theater. He is the grandfather of Nizaemon Kataoka XV, a living national treasure. In addition to Kabuki, he has appeared in TV dramas and commercials, and starred in the movie "Mendou na Hito" (The Mendou People), released in 2023, and in the period drama "Yakusoku", based on the novel by Shuhei Fujisawa, released at the beginning of the year in 2024.

- You wore a TATLAS today, how did you like it?
I was excited and had fun coordinating the various outfits. I usually wear only simple monotone outerwear, so it felt right. I also liked the coloring of the items that I would not have chosen myself, and when I tried them on, I liked them more than I thought I would, and I think my range of coordination expanded.
- When did you first become interested in fashion?
My mother was in the design business, and I think it was copying her sideways that got me interested in fashion. I like beautiful and interesting things, so fashion is part of my self-expression.
- What is important to you when coordinating your own work?
You have always liked simple items and often combine a white T or shirt with jeans. But on the first day of a Kabuki performance and at the Chishu-gyu, it is a rule to wear a suit and tie up. . In that way, I try to dress according to TPO.
-Under the brand concept of "in everywhere," TARATLAS pursues formative beauty by utilizing three universal themes: "functional," "sophisticated," and "one and only. How do these three themes apply to you?
The "functional" part of me is adaptability . I have several channels within me and switch between them depending on the occasion. TPO, as I mentioned earlier, is exactly this. Who I am meeting, where I am going, what I am doing . In addition, I choose my clothes and perfume based on the season and my mood.
-What do you think is the "sophisticated" part?
That is what I am always looking for. I believe that a person who can be himself/herself without being mature in a good sense is sophisticated. In order to achieve this, it is important to have depth and a sense of balance.

- What is a sense of balance?
Simply put, Yin and Yang . . I think we need a balance between introversion and extroversion. If you are too extroverted, you may lose yourself, and if you are too introverted, you cannot communicate. . I don't want to exaggerate, appeal, or belittle myself. I want to cultivate such a sense of balance.
- So what about the "one and only"?
The "one and only" is what we are searching for. Being conscious of being the one and only does not make you so, does it? Well, I try not to overthink it. I believe that if we live our lives as they are, with adaptability and respect for our roots, we will be able to be called "the one and only.
