The "Daikanyama" exhibition will be held from February 13 (Friday) to March 14 (Saturday) for about a month in Daikanyama, Tokyo.AISHOThis exhibition at the "Art in the World" show will focus on works that pay homage to Picasso, whom Sablo Mikawa says was the starting point of his childhood encounter with art and his fascination with it.
In preparation for the exhibition, he traveled to Picasso's hometown of Malaga, Spain, and to Morocco, which he had long been interested in, last summer to experience Picasso's original landscapes and primitive art and folk art, including African masks, firsthand. Most of the works in the exhibition were inspired by this trip, including the popular “Fireman” series and the new “The Spirit” series inspired by African sculptures. series inspired by African sculpture, and many other previously unreleased works.
