Thanks to the stellar performances of Shohei Ohtani and Yushin Yamamoto, Major League Baseball has become a frequent topic on TV. The team-colored caps worn by the players are quite striking, and you can even see people incorporating them into their street style.
The brand that took notice of these baseball caps is 〈, which offers headwear under the concept of “pretty good.”Pretty Good〉. I’ve put together a collection of caps based on a fictional amateur baseball league that feels like it could actually exist.
The league features these five unique teams. It really makes you wonder what kind of games they would play if they actually existed.
Canadian Rockies
The team is based at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Since many of the players work as mountain guides, they wear hiking boots. While many of the players are resilient in the cold and physically powerful, the team is completely unable to handle the heat.
Iriomote Cats
Their home base is Iriomote Island. The ballpark is nestled in dense mountain forests, and of course, they use handmade wooden bats. It’s a team made up of wild kids with physiques as rugged as that of the professional golfer Saru.
Versailles Bakeries
Based in Versailles, France, this team is made up mostly of bakers and bread lovers. They’re a cheerful bunch who use bats that are just barely within regulation limits—as thick as a loaf of French bread.
Antarctic Whales
Their home base is, of course, Antarctica. It’s a team that plays recreational baseball in sub-freezing temperatures all year round. It’s so cold that the field turns into an ice rink, so the players’ cleats have been replaced with ice skates—making this a team that may not be great at pitching, but is incredibly fast on its feet.
Ethiopian Coffees
Based in Ethiopia, the team is made up of coffee producers and baristas. The drink they consume during games is, of course, their own homemade coffee. Thanks to their boundless physical ability and the power of caffeine, the team boasts three players who have claimed the home run title for their impressive number of home runs.
The caps feature embroidery that represents each team's identity.
