DIGGIN DEEP will be held in Daikanyama, Tokyo for two days of digging for sounds and things. Huinum will also participate as a media partner!

The "DIGGIN DEEP" market event will be held at Daikanyama T-SITE on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8.

Launched in 2024, this outdoor event centers on music and brings together elements of fashion, art, and lifestyle. Now in its third year, the event is expanding beyond Daikanyama to include Kyoto and Shonan, aiming to showcase the appeal of culture in an even broader and more in-depth way.

In addition, we at "Fuinam" are participating as a media partner to help liven up the event. We plan to bring you highlights and topics to help you enjoy "DIGGIN DEEP" as the event unfolds.

So, let’s start with the highlights for next weekend.

◾️MUSIC

The headline performances will feature the five-piece band "HAPPY" from Kyoto on the 7th, and Mitsushi Shimozu, the vocalist of "Odotte Bakari no Kuni," on the 8th.

A five-piece band formed in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, in 2012. The sound created by Alec (guitar/vocals), Ric (keyboards/vocals), Chew (guitar), Syu (bass), and Bob (drums/vocals) is rooted in traditional styles while uniquely blending rock, psychedelic, exotica, dance music, new age, and improvisation. They have performed at numerous festivals and raves both domestically and internationally, including Festival de FRUE, Inochi no Matsuri, rural, Mitsuki-min, Mizu to Ki no Matsuri, PURE RAVE, and Wonderfruit Festival. Embracing the spirit of improvisational music that adapts to the atmosphere and mood of the moment, they continue their musical experimentation and exploration.

In 2008, he formed the psychedelic rock band "Odotte Bakari no Kuni" in Kobe, serving as the frontman (vocals and guitar). Starting the following year, he released two mini-albums in quick succession, drawing attention at major festivals and other events. After several lineup changes over the years, he has released seven full-length albums. While also active under various other monikers such as GOD, The Acid House, and Obake, he began his solo career in 2018, marking the 10th anniversary of his debut. Also starting that year, he launched an independently organized series titled “Yamato Kotoba,” featuring guest artists in a split-bill format. Concurrently with the publication of his first book, *Mitsushi Shimozu Lyrics Collection*, he released his second solo album, *Transient World*.

Throughout both days, DJs including Taniya Hashimoto will set the mood with a genre-spanning selection of tracks. Feel free to pause your shopping to listen, or use the music as background noise while you continue digging through the records. One of the event’s charms is the freedom to engage with the music at your own pace.

◾️SHOPPING

One of the best parts of a market event is the chance to stumble upon unexpected finds. From records and vintage clothing to art and miscellaneous goods, around 30 shops will gather, each bringing their own unique selection of items. ◾️THE BITTER-IST Talk Session

On the 8th, there will also be a talk show presented by Asahi Beer and Fuinam. Under the theme of “The Deliciousness Beyond Bitterness,“ proposed by the beer brand “The Vitalist,” Goodwalkin’s Ayumu Ueda and model Saki Shibata will discuss their passion for vintage clothing and music.
