Skateboarding is attracting increasing attention due to its adoption as an event in international sports festivals and the success of Yuto Horiyone. The reason why a sport that was once started by surfers has become so popular is because of its close ties to street culture.

This exhibition is a perfect opportunity to delve into the cultural aspects of skateboarding. The "Skateboarding.UNDER RIf the "Boo-Hooray GalleryTogether with "The Skateboard CULT is a CURTURE.

This exhibition traces the trajectory of skateboarding from the 1970s to the 2000s, when skateboarding became a passionate street culture that expanded into a variety of artistic expressions such as photographs, zines, flyers, and posters.

The exhibition features works by Mark Gonzalez, Larry Clark, Ed Templeton, Tobin Yelland, and other well-known artists. In addition, zines and flyers from unknown artists and the underground scene will be on display to give visitors a sense of the atmosphere of the time.

The exhibition was curated by Johan Kugelberg, who runs the Boo Hooley Gallery and is also a book and zine editor. He is known as a key figure in skate culture, having established the world's largest collection of skateboard zines at Emory University in Atlanta, USA, in 2017.
