A story about young people—with an average age of 19.9—discovering sides of themselves they never knew existed. The art book *Hito to Fuku*, created by stylist TEPPEI and United Arrows, is now on sale.

A new initiative launched last year by "United Arrows," "UA CURATED"This is a curation store project that selects and showcases items from across all of our in-house labels, offering a fresh perspective that captures the spirit of the times."

As part of this initiative, the stylist’sTeppeiThe art book *People and Clothes*, created in conjunction with the exhibition, is now on sale.

The concept behind this project is a story in which fashion-conscious young people encounter a ”side of themselves they haven’t yet discovered.” TEPPEI worked closely with each of the 36 subjects—with an average age of 19.9—styling them in pieces from the “United Arrows” label. Through the act of wearing clothes chosen by others, a new self—slumbering deep within—gently awakens. These moments have been captured in a single visual book.

To celebrate the book’s release, a talk event was held on Monday, March 9. TEPPEI and Shinya Matsumoto, Chief Creative Officer of “United Arrows,” took the stage.

Mr. Matsumoto explains the reasoning behind United Arrows—whose core customer base is in their 30s and 40s—launching a project that deliberately targets younger people.

I think our core customer base—people in their late 30s to early 40s—tends to dress in a fairly similar style. There’s one major trend, and within that, people choose clothes that reflect their own personality. On the other hand, the teens and twentysomethings we focused on this time are a generation that values individuality. It’s not just that there are a few standout kids; I feel that the entire generation is unique. Looking back, young people’s fashion sensibilities have always influenced adult fashion, no matter the era. Our starting point was the realization that we needed to engage not only with our existing customers but also with young people.

TEPPEI reflected on this project as follows.

"People and clothing" is an incredibly broad theme. It might be something we don’t need to think about, but I believe it’s a fundamental issue worth addressing. Giving it concrete form was a challenge, but I believe that being able to express it within the framework of "United Arrows" is a meaningful endeavor that has the potential to influence many people in the fashion industry.
