The setting was Tsuru City and Otsuki City in Yamanashi Prefecture, where the Chuo Maglev Test Line runs. This area, where test runs and technological development have been conducted for many years, can be considered the birthplace of the maglev. The landscapes that stretch across this region—including the majestic Mount Fuji and the people working at the roadside station in Tsuru City—along with the lives of the local residents, are captured as art through Mr. Konami’s evocative photographs.
