Over the past few years, natural wine has firmly established itself not merely as a passing trend, but as a genuine option for wine enthusiasts.
I often hear people say that while they enjoy drinking it, they can’t seem to remember the region, brand, or producer at all.
I see. But let’s at least try to remember this person’s name.
Anders Frederik Steen.
A pioneer of the natural wine movement, he began his career as a sommelier at “Noma” in his hometown of Copenhagen. After opening several restaurants, he embarked on a career as a winemaker in southern France in 2013.

The Japanese edition of *Poetry Is Growing in Our Garden* (Apartamento, 2022)—a collection of notes on Anders’ winemaking and philosophy—will be published by “twelvebooks.”
The story portrays a person who has spent many years exploring a single field, returning to its essence through trial and error, and growing alongside the wine.
The cover comes in three newly designed color variations, and the book features a Japanese translation of the original text, which spans over 500 pages.
To coincide with the release of this book, we will be hosting the "KANPAI NATURAL WINE FES," featuring Mr. Anders, who is currently visiting Japan from the South of France.
The selection features approximately 40 varieties, focusing on rare vintage wines and wines personally selected by Anders.
Each event focuses on a single natural wine producer, offering a chance to enjoy natural wine, food, and music, and features a wealth of other activities as well.
The menu features a special selection created by Chef Sakai of the renowned Okusawa restaurant "Igora" and the team led by private chef Eriko Kishimoto of "Nibun no Ichi."
The music will be curated by KENKOU from the wine shop "flow" and Masato Segawa, designer at "SEEALL."
In addition to signed books, T-shirts created in collaboration with will also be available for purchase on the day of the event.
There will also be a number of related events, so please check out the "gubigubi" Instagram page for more details.
