SUICOKE DEPA-2 (Colors: Chalk, Navy, Black) ¥16,500
Based on the two-strap design of sports sandals, the "DEPA" has been reimagined for everyday urban wear. It features a snug fit that provides stable support and minimizes wobbling while walking, yet its design is composed of only the bare essentials, resulting in a clean, refined look. This makes it easy to incorporate into any outfit, and it can be said to be a model that simply and elegantly expresses the identity of SUICOCK.
As for the key updates, let’s start by looking at the brand name. The traditional tag featuring a row of letters has been revamped with a new design that features a straight line representing the initial “S.” The result is a simpler, more solid look.
By adjusting the weave and density of the tape used in the straps and adopting a sturdier material than before, we’ve enhanced the sense of security you feel when slipping your feet into the shoes. The sheen has also been toned down, giving the shoes a more understated, refined appearance. They retain their shape even after you take them off, so you’ll feel a sense of reliability just by seeing them sitting in your entryway.
Another appealing feature of Suicock is that the brand develops its own footbeds and outsoles. The footbeds incorporate antimicrobial materials to help reduce odor, and the heel, arch, and toe areas are designed to conform to the natural shape of the foot. This provides support for extended wear and helps you maintain stability while walking. The outsole is lightweight and highly durable, allowing you to experience its rugged construction in everyday use.
SUICOKE KISSE (Colors: Chalk, Navy, Black) ¥18,700
Next up is the “KISSE,” which features a functional design highlighted by three straps that cross over the instep. It securely supports the ankle, instep, and toes, creating a natural, comfortable fit that feels as though the foot and sandal have become one. The overlapping straps also give it a distinctly fashionable vibe. While perfect for casual outfits, it also works well as a stylish accent when paired with slacks or similar formal wear.
Pads have been added to the inside of each strap. Whereas we previously used a flat fabric with no texture, this update features a mesh material only on the parts that come into contact with the skin. This design improves the fit while ensuring a comfortable feel against the skin.
By the way, here’s a small detail: the component at the end of the strap is another example of Suicock’s attention to detail. It’s designed to prevent the end of the strap from curling up, and it’s been updated with a narrower width than the previous model for a cleaner look.
The midsole thickness has also been increased from the previous 7 mm to 10 mm. By using a softer material blend, the shoe provides firm support while offering a comfortable feel.
SUICOKE MOTO (Colors: Chalk, Navy, Black) ¥18,700
Last but not least is the “MOTO,” known for its voluminous upper. Padded material that wraps around the instep from both sides, combined with two straps running over the top, enhances the fit while delivering a comfortable, flexible feel. And when it comes to this model, its unique, distinctive shape is a standout feature. It brings a distinct presence to your feet, ensuring your outfit looks polished even with simple attire.
What sets "MOTO" apart is not only its superior fit but also the emphasis placed on comfort. For example, just like with "KISSE," the padding lining has been updated to a mesh material to improve the feel against the skin when worn barefoot.
Another key feature is the placement of Velcro at the points where the padding overlaps, ensuring the shoes stay securely in place while walking. The straps also feature adjustable padding, allowing you to move them to achieve your preferred fit. This significantly improves comfort.
This update takes the design to the next level by refining every detail—both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. The result is a product that truly embodies the distinctive Suicock approach.
