"Re;PROJECT," organized by "BILLY’S," is a series of events centered on reinterpreting Japan’s diverse culture, including fashion, art, and music.
For this fifth installment, we’re focusing on “sofubi”—a uniquely Japanese cultural phenomenon that has gained popularity around the world. We’ve teamed up with “Marusan,” a company that has supported this culture since its early days, to showcase and sell a selection ranging from vintage to contemporary sofubi at “Billy’s Shibuya.”
Baron 350 ¥16,500
Bondraa 350 ¥16,500
The spotlight is on the Marusan Monsters (commonly known as "Marumon"), the original monsters created by "Marusan" in 1970–71. Two collaborative soft vinyl figures have been released, featuring a selection of the most popular monsters from the series, all colored in navy—the corporate color of "Billy's."
Ultraman 350 ¥16,500
Ultra Seven 450 ¥22,000
In addition, a triple collaboration featuring “Tsuburaya Productions” has been realized. Reissue soft vinyl figures of Ultraman (released in 1966) and the world’s first Ultraman Seven (released in 1967) are now available in a navy-colored "Billy’s" exclusive version. The design is said to be inspired by Ultraman and Ultraman Seven in "night combat."
The exhibition runs through Friday, April 10. Whether you view them as a cultural phenomenon born in Japan or as toys that bring back the excitement of childhood, we invite you to explore the world of soft vinyl figures at your own pace.
