New brand "buffer" by Toru Nishiyama from HUMAN MADE. Finally, the brand will start this weekend.

“Buffer” is a new brand from HUMAN MADE Co., Ltd. that is already generating buzz thanks to creative director Toru Nishiyama. On Saturday, April 25, the long-awaited first collection will finally launch, and a flagship store will open simultaneously in the Jinnan area of Shibuya.

The first collection features four different T-shirt styles, each printed with graphics and messages created by illustrators and artists. What sets them apart is not just the design, but also the silhouette. Drawing inspiration from T-shirts of the 1980s through the 2000s, we developed an original body cut that captures the vibe of that era with a slightly longer length and a slightly slimmer fit.

“Buffy,” the brand's mascot, was created based on a rabbit graphic designed by art director Yuji Ueyama.

In addition to T-shirts, the brand offers a wide variety of souvenir items reminiscent of 1990s American souvenirs, including socks, pin badges, stickers, pins, and air fresheners. Another major appeal of is its pricing, which is set with the standards of the 80s and 90s in mind, making the items affordable even for young people.

In addition to carrying products, our Shibuya Jinnan store will feature special in-store-only events. Permanent sections dedicated to “Magnif,” a specialty store for vintage magazines, and “Waltz,” a specialty store for cassette tapes, will be set up. Through tactile visuals and analog sound, the space allows visitors to experience firsthand the 1980s and 1990s culture that lies at the heart of the brand.

Going beyond the confines of a mere fashion brand, *Buffa* bridges the youth culture of the past with the present. It will be fascinating to see what kind of culture emerges from such a space—we’ll be keeping a close eye on its future developments.
