Fireworks are one of the most popular summer traditions in Japan. Wearing a yukata (light cotton kimono) and with a fan in one hand, looking up at the summer night sky and enjoying the power and transience of fireworks is an emotionally rich scene that is uniquely Japanese.
STAR ISLAND" is an event that takes this traditional Japanese culture of fireworks and fuses it with cutting-edge technology to reconstruct it into a new experience. Seamlessly interlocking light, sound, and performance, this evolved entertainment show is a world apart from conventional fireworks, and has been highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also overseas.
Such "STAR ISLAND" will be held in 2026.
The story unfolds like a movie, with 12,000 fireworks, 800 drones, lasers, sound, and flame performances synchronized around a one-and-a-half-hour script. Moreover, the production has been further evolved with the addition of a new video screen and live ensemble performances, providing an even more immersive live experience than ever before.
There will also be food, activities, and photo spots, so there will be plenty of content to enjoy outside of showtime. From the opening at 4:00 p.m. to the close of the festival, the event is designed to be enjoyed by all generations as if it were an urban festival.
The date and time is Saturday, May 23, and the stage is Odaiba Kaihin Park. Please come and experience with your own eyes a night that will change the concept of fireworks.
