KENNY “DOPE” GONZALEZ. Known as a member of Masters at Work and with four Grammy Award nominations to his credit, his true strength lies in his insatiable curiosity about beats.
With a deep understanding of every facet of Black music—from house, hip-hop, and Latin to jazz and funk—his DJ sets are characterized by bold track selections that never let the audience get bored, along with a robust, rich sound. You’re sure to sense his one-of-a-kind personality in the sound emanating from the speakers.
KENNY DOPE’s Japan tour is about to kick off. Starting with a party at CLUB MAGO in Nagoya on the 2nd, he’ll be making stops in Osaka, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Tokyo, and Sapporo.
Brian Jackson’s latest album, *Now More Than Ever*, produced by KENNY DOPE and LOUIS VEGA under the name MASTERS AT WORK, is scheduled for release on May 29, 2026. With contributions from Black Thought of The Roots and Detroit’s Moodymann, I can’t wait to hear it.
Whether you’ve got a packed schedule for Golden Week or find yourself with some free time on your hands, KENNY DOPE’s first Japan tour in nine years is definitely something you should make a top priority. Don’t miss it!
