Same but different, nostalgic but new. Old Folk House will be releasing items specially ordered by Biotope.

There are countless up-and-coming brands in Tokyo, but among them, <Old Folk House〉is unique. It stands apart from other brands and engages in activities that go beyond simply making clothes, operating within its own distinct context.

They have launched the brand’s first-ever custom collaboration project. Their partner is, “BIOTOP".

We created two styles. Both are pieces that will help you welcome early summer with a refreshing vibe. Let me introduce them below.

Skipper Spring/Summer Polo Shirt ¥46,200

First up is a relaxed-fit skipper polo shirt. The fabric is a recycled cotton tweed from BALLI, a long-established Italian fabric manufacturer founded in 1948, which Old Folk House has used in the past. It features a subtle sheen and a unique three-dimensional texture.

By incorporating subtle details—such as decorative buttons without buttonholes or slits that create a front-to-back difference—we add a unique touch to the design.

Kakishibu-Dyed Nails T-shirt ¥15,400

Inspired by the signature foot nail design of *Old Folk House*, we’ve incorporated a studded pattern into this T-shirt. By layering iron-mordanted dye over a natural persimmon-tannin dye, we’ve achieved a rich, deep color with depth. Since each piece is hand-dyed, there may be slight variations in color—please enjoy the unique character of each one.

Sales will begin on Friday, May 8 at five "Biotope" locations (Shirokanedai, Osaka, Fukuoka, Kobe, and Sapporo). Additionally, to commemorate the launch, a pop-up shop will be held at "BIOTOP TOKYO (Shirokanedai)" from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 17.

While retaining the signature style of *Old Folk House*, this collection incorporates elements of *Biotope*, hinting at new possibilities for the brand. Don’t miss it.
