Available exclusively at our company-owned stores, the "LOWBASKET SG" is based on the "LOWBASKET," a staple of the MOONSTAR FINE VULCANIZED series. We have redesigned the materials and sole construction to deliver enhanced durability and comfort, upgrading it into a style that’s perfect for adults.

The upper is crafted from grained leather specially commissioned from a tannery in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. Although the leather is thick, it has been tanned to be soft, making it comfortable against the skin. While it looks substantial, the impression is quite different when you actually wear them. Of course, this leather plays a major role in giving these shoes their distinctive, unique character.

In addition, the outsole features a molded sole. By using a proprietary rubber compound that is highly resistant to wear, durability has been enhanced. The footbed is made of a special foam rubber that is approximately twice as thick as that of the standard model, and its two-layer structure—which offers excellent rebound—provides the superior cushioning befitting the flagship model of the series.

Another key feature is that these materials are crafted using the vulcanization process, which is synonymous with Moonstar. For over 100 years since the development of the jikatabi, research and refinement have continued at the company’s own factory in Kurume, Fukuoka. The sole’s flexibility, the comfortable fit, and the beautiful finish achieved through the craftsmanship of skilled artisans are the unique charms of this series.

The shoes will be available in two colors: white and black. They are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, June 26, 2026. As the weather gets warmer, our wardrobes tend to become simpler.
