The collaboration was inspired by the fact that Mr. Arai himself regularly incorporates tennis shoes into his everyday fashion. It was born out of a desire to redefine tennis shoes—not just as gear worn on the court, but as fashion items.
The design incorporates the concepts of “fore side” and “back side.” The ASICS stripe is placed on the fore side (right), while the spiral mark is positioned on the back side (left), creating a design that changes its appearance depending on the viewing angle. The result is a pair of shoes brimming with the playful spirit of tennis.
Since these shoes are based on ASICS tennis shoes—worn by the world’s top players—their performance on the court is guaranteed. The “WINGWALL” resin component in the midfoot provides solid support for quick changes of direction and lateral movements. The upper is made of soft synthetic leather, and the heel area and tongue feature thick foam padding, creating a snug, enveloping fit.
