〈Susan Bell〉 was founded in the Netherlands in 2000. Its signature product, “The New Shopping Bag,” was conceived by founder Susan Bell as an alternative to disposable plastic bags. The iconic design—featuring stripes that appear to run diagonally upward—has gained popularity, and the brand now produces bags in a variety of shapes.

The brand that caught my attention is Paul Smith. This time, collaborative items from the two brands will be available for pre-release at a pop-up store in the Isetan Shinjuku store.

The lineup includes not only “The New Shopping Bag” but also “The New Trash Bag,” “The New Pouch,” and many other variations.

These are special items that incorporate Paul Smith’s stripes and vibrant colors into Susan Bell’s designs. Each piece features a unique combination of stripes, creating a graphic look.

During the pop-up store event, Susan Bijl herself will visit Japan to host a color workshop titled “Your Color, Your Story – A Workshop on Color Combinations with Susan Bijl.”

Participants can choose their own two colors from swatches of Susan Bell’s ripstop nylon to create a one-of-a-kind piece.

The pop-up store will be open from July 15 through Tuesday, July 21. After that, the collaboration items will go on sale starting Wednesday, July 22, at the official Paul Smith online store, ZOZO, and select stores.
