Precisely because bags are practical items that I want to use for a long time, I look for timeless functionality, design, and durability in them.
In that sense, the “DAY TRIPPER” casual shoulder bag from the “MADE IN USA COLLECTION”—a signature line of BRIEFING—seems like the perfect choice. That’s because, since its release in 2006, it has remained popular with many people for 20 years with virtually no changes to its basic design.
The “DAY TRIPPER” embodies timeless charm and refined functionality that transcend trends and moods. Now, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, an anniversary model of the “DAY TRIPPER” has arrived.
DAY TRIPPER (Colors: MULTICAM / SNOW CAMO / MULTICAM BLACK) ¥40,700
First is a model featuring three types of MULTICAM®. The colors available include the standard MULTICAM pattern, designed for a variety of terrains; SNOW CAMO, featuring a white base accented with pale gray; and MULTICAM BLACK, designed for special operations in urban environments and nighttime missions. These patterns are quintessentially “Briefing,” boasting a rugged construction made from military-grade materials.
DAY TRIPPER LIGHT (Color: COYOTE / BLACK) ¥37,400
Next up is the “DAY TRIPPER LIGHT,” made from American-made 70-denier ripstop nylon. While retaining its basic structure, the bag has been dramatically lightened. Although lightweight, the ripstop fabric offers excellent tear resistance, ensuring its durability. Mesh pockets on both sides of the bag make it convenient for storing items like water bottles.
DAY TRIPPER LARGE (Color: BLACK / FOLIAGE) ¥51,700
*FOLIAGE is scheduled to be released around November.
Last but not least is the “DAY TRIPPER LARGE,” a new size. When it was first released in 2006, the ideal size for the “DAY TRIPPER” was “one that could hold an A4-sized document,” but 20 years later, it has been reborn as a size that accommodates a 14-inch laptop, adapting to the changing lifestyles of today’s consumers.
Design, functionality, durability. The “DAY TRIPPER” is a bag you can rely on for years in every respect—it’s safe to say it’s become a staple in the Reiwa era. It may sound like a cliché, but it’s a true gem that’s definitely worth having. It’s set to be released in stages starting Friday, August 21.
