Created by Toru Nishiyama, the brand “Buffer” was conceived as a “buffer” to bridge the context of 1980s- and 1990s U.S. culture to the next generation. Its new collection will be released this weekend on Saturday, August 22.
The theme for this collection is “A Tribute to 1980s American Culture.” We’ve put together a lineup of three graphic T-shirts, each with a unique design approach.

A graphic featuring a modified version of the brand’s main logo is boldly placed on the back. This piece pays homage to corporate logos reminiscent of the 1980s.

The design is inspired by the packaging of hard candy you might find in an American supermarket. Based on the playful premise, “What if Buffer made candy?”, we’ve created original characters specifically for this project.

ETC is portrayed with a “Mondo-esque vibe” that epitomizes American pop culture and film subculture from the 1980s onward. The design was created by graphic designer Shuntaro Takeuchi.
In addition to apparel, don't miss the stylish accessories. Along with sling bags featuring dinosaur graphics and motel-style door tags, a total of five merchandise items—including caps, ashtrays, and pin badges—will be released simultaneously.
Sling Bag ¥ 3,850
Ash Tray Buffer Logo ¥4,400
Door Tag Buffy ¥3,300
Original Color 6-Panel Cap ¥5,500
Button Badge: Laughing Buffer ¥440
Please note that the three items—the cap, ashtray, and pin—are available exclusively at “Buffer Store” in Jinnan. The store also features permanent sections dedicated to the magazine specialty shop “magnif” and the cassette tape specialty shop “waltz,” allowing you to experience the culture of that era firsthand. If you haven’t visited yet, why not take this opportunity to stop by?
Sales begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22.
