The North Face is hosting a special exhibition to celebrate its 60th anniversary! Through 10 stories, the brand looks back on its journey of exploration.

In 1966, < was founded in San Francisco's North Beach.THE NORTH FACE〉. Since our founding, we have walked hand in hand with nature, continuing our exploration through challenges with athletes, the development of innovative products and materials, and co-creation with design and culture.

To commemorate its 60th anniversary, The North Face is hosting a special exhibition titled “NEVER STOP EXPLORING EXHIBITION.”

It all begins with a fundamental question: “What is The North Face?” For the past 60 years, we have tackled the polar regions alongside athletes, refined our designs, developed new materials, and engaged with different cultures. All of this has been a practical embodiment of “Exploring with Nature.”

Through the stories of the 10 explorations that have shaped the brand, this exhibition traces its history and illustrates the philosophy that underlies it.

For example, “SILENTWARMTH” introduces futuristic prototypes inspired by “Voxeloft,” a unique structural design technology that adjusts the volume of air within clothing to freely vary its thermal insulation properties. “CROSSOVER” looks back on collaborative products from the 2000s onward. Additionally, “OPENROAD” explores the products created by Kenneth Hap Krop—the brand’s second-generation founder, who took over the brand in 1968—during the 1960s and early 1970s, as well as the vision he infused into them. Through these diverse perspectives, the exhibition traces the brand’s history.

In addition, the video work “EXPLORING WITH NATURE,” created in conjunction with this exhibition, will be screened at the venue.

Through interviews with 10 individuals—including Kenneth Hap Krop, a founder of the second generation, as well as TNF athletes, musicians, filmmakers, and writers—who continue to explore alongside nature, the exhibition reexamines the importance and potential of “exploring alongside nature.” It is scheduled to be screened daily at 6:30 p.m. during the exhibition period.
