An experimental project carried out by “COMME des GARÇONS” from 2004 to 2009.
Its name is “Comme des Garçons Guerrilla Store.”
At that time, they were held in various locations around the world, including Berlin, Barcelona, Singapore, Warsaw, Hong Kong, and Stockholm.
Avoiding the major fashion districts in each city, the stores were characterized by designs that made use of the existing walls, signs, and floor scratches from the previous tenants; they are said to have served as the prototype for the pop-up store format, which has since become commonplace.
One such “Comme des Garçons Guerrilla Store” is set to open in Yakuin, Fukuoka. Yakuin is located south of Tenjin and is an area dotted with hidden gems.
The store is spread over two floors. The first floor features products from 16 brands under the “Comme des Garçons” umbrella, while the second floor features it is said that items from *Comme des Garçons*, *Comme des Garçons Homme Plus*, *Black Comme des Garçons*, and *Comme des Garçons Girl*, as well as limited-edition archive pieces, will be sold at special prices.
What's more, I'm intrigued to hear that they carry a wide selection of special items exclusive to this store.
The store opens on Tuesday, October 27, at 11:00 a.m. It will remain open until the opening of the “Comme des Garçons” flagship store near Hakata Station, which is scheduled for mid-December of this year.
