As for the current situation surrounding Japanese photo books, although they are beginning to be recognized worldwide, publishers from Western countries have yet to go out of their way to visit Japanese photo book fairs. In other words, although there are world-class photo books in Japan, there are few opportunities for them to be widely known overseas. . In order to break through this situation, "Photobook JP" will be held with the aim of becoming one of the largest art book fairs in Asia. Despite the fact that this is the first time the event has been held, many international exhibitors have already been confirmed, including the British publisher MACK and the Dutch distributor Idea books. From Japan, the distributor "twelvebooks" and domestic bookstores "shelf" and "POST" will also participate. Talk shows by up-and-coming photographers such as Risaku Suzuki, Mayumi Hosokura, and Yusuke Yamatani will also be held.
Also, visitors to the event will receive a free tabloid book of works bound by the works of Alec Soth, Ed Templeton, and Yoshiyuki Okuyama. This special take-free tabloid, which is packed with domestic and international talent, is a must-have.
