Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore is the cultural center of Daikanyama and hosts a variety of events. The bookstore is not only a bookstore, but also offers a variety of events related to daily life in general, but because it is a "bookstore," it places great importance on book-related events.
The Daikanyama BOOK DESIGN Exhibition 2016, which will be held again as last year, is the best example of this.
For this third edition, Yohei Sanjo (architecture and design) and Harumi Shimizu (art and photography), concierges of Daikanyama Tsutaya, have selected 30 books from among domestic and international books published in 2015 that excel in book design from the perspective of "printing, layout, binding and bookmaking.
In addition, this year there will be a satellite project, the "Selector's Choice: Best Books of 2015" exhibition. Five people working in the book industry will select the best books of 2015 from their own perspectives. Although they work in different fields, they all have one thing in common: they are "book professionals. The names are interesting from a huinamu point of view. (See below for details)
The books, produced with meticulous attention to detail, are filled with a variety of thoughts and feelings. Please take a look at the weight, smell, and texture of the paper, which cannot be experienced digitally.
