PS Paul Smith Happy" captures the happy and positive spirit that lies at the heart of Paul Smith's creations. The latest collection is a collection of items printed with colorful and pop illustrations.
This work is actually by illustrator Hiroshi Nagai. The motif of this work is the landscape of England, the home of "Paul Smith," and it is the first time he has painted this country. The following is a comment from Mr. Nagai.
Actually, I have never been to England. My paintings are mostly of tropical landscapes such as the United States, Hawaii, and Guam, where I traveled when I was young. This time, I painted a scene of England for the first time because it is a work for Paul Smith. I was asked to paint a seascape with a car, so I chose the famous Seven Sisters as my subject. When I paint tropical countries, I paint the blue sky darker, but this is not the case with the British sky. That is why the color of the sky is lighter than usual. The car in the scene is a London cab with one passenger. I usually paint American cars from the 60s and 70s, so this was also a first for me. I painted many of these for the first time while thinking about scenes in England, which I have never visited.
PS Paul Smith Happy" and Hiroshi Nagai's collaboration, the second in the series, includes a reversible blouson, sweatshirt, T-shirt, short-sleeved shirt, sticker, and poster.
