Alternative rock" is said to have been a booming movement in the 1980s, centered on independent labels, and its free musicality led to the creation of various music genres later on. It is also said to have had a deep relationship with photography and art, and to have greatly influenced the fashion scene.
A pop-up event will be held at "Isetan Shinjuku" where you can enjoy a variety of special T-shirts, sweatshirts, and goods created by selected bands that led such "alternative rock" and important photographers, artists, and labels related to them, while viewing the related charts.
The project was set up at OPEN STUDIO, a gallery attached to the "Freaks Store Shibuya" store.
The pop-up will run for 10 days from July 3 (Wed) to 12 (Fri). The lineup you see here will be all lined up.
The curation by OPEN STUDIO is well worth a look, with a strong message that "the alternative scene of the 90s, which has not faded away even after more than 30 years, will continue to influence all generations.
Whether you are a music lover, a fashion lover, or not, please come to the venue and experience firsthand a major movement that continues to influence us today.
