Where tennis is unique.
-Today, we asked you to wear an item from Lacoste, how did you like it?
New field: As the brand originated in sportswear, the clothes are very light and comfortable. The pants are also made of a shaky material, but they are really light, and I felt that they were light on my feet. I felt that they specialize in light footwork. As a dancer, the weight of my clothes changes the speed at which I feel when I dance. So I thought it was great in terms of lightness, and also in terms of range of motion.
Nakamura: I really liked the pants in the first look. They are lightweight, breathable, and stylish. Today you paired them with a shirt, but they would also go well with cut-and-sewns, and I could think of many different outfits.
-Are there any items that caught your attention?
New field: These are "COCHET" loafers. They have the Lacoste logo on the side, but the logo itself is a catchy crocodile design. I really liked the way it made them look more mature and relaxed, like an adult's sense of fun. I didn't get tired at all when walking. I thought it was only possible with sports brand loafers, which usually hurt. I would like to buy these loafers because they are easy to use on a daily basis.
Nakamura: This is a polo shirt worn with a pants look. I have always had a strong image of polo shirts for Lacoste. For a while, I was addicted to buying two or three Lacoste polo shirts and wearing them with denim. There was something about the fresh breeze from the south of France (laughs). I think polo shirts have a wide range of uses: they can be used in everyday life, and they can also be used as casual attire for occasions such as small previews.
-What do you think about the relationship between tennis and fashion?
New field: Tennis is not a team sport, but a one- or two-person sport. Therefore, there is little concept of a uniform, and it is easy for each individual to choose his or her own clothes according to his or her identity and mindset of the day. I think this is the reason why tennis, including hair bands and wristbands, is becoming more fashionable, because it is an opportunity to express one's own personality.
Nakamura: It's nice to be able to enjoy that kind of fashion in sports. It's so cute that I might even start playing tennis just to wear tennis wear (laughs).
New field: Also, the Lacoste brand itself is loved by men and women of all ages. I remember giving a friend a Lacoste outfit for her birthday when I was around 20 years old. When I received it, I thought, "It's Lacoste! It's the charm of the brand, or rather, the pop and easy-to-accept brand image. You can tell just by the alligator logo, and it's cute. I think the fact that it is easy to use in daily life also comes from that.
