Feel the history as you race through the green tunnel.
After refueling, it’s finally time to tackle the main trail section. We set foot on the “Daibutsu-kiridōri” trail—one of the “Seven Gates of Kamakura,” the seven key entry and exit points connecting the inner and outer parts of Kamakura, said to have been carved out during the Kamakura period.
Surrounded by lush greenery, the two run breathlessly up stairs and along unpaved mountain trails. The “Oakley Meta Vanguard,” designed specifically for extreme sports, features a high IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, ensuring reliable performance even in rugged trail conditions.
The update introduces new “Hyperlapse” and “Slow Motion” recording features that allow you to capture dynamic activities in a more dramatic way. “Pulling out your phone while running is dangerous and throws off your pace, but with this, you can capture the ‘scenery you’re seeing right now’ in immersive, hyperlapse-style footage. It makes the running experience feel completely different,” says Shin, who is clearly impressed.
Furthermore, when paired with a Garmin smartwatch, you can easily check real-time running data and heart rate without needing your smartphone.
