Talk About LACOSTELacoste: Where Tradition Meets Modernity.
—What was your experience like actually wearing Lacoste clothing and shoes this time?
Sera: For me, the polo shirts I bought in college left a strong impression, but I also felt that sneakers have a timeless appeal that transcends trends. One pair I tried on, the “Slambreak,” retains the traditional vibe of a tennis court while featuring a mix of materials and a voluminous silhouette that feels incredibly modern. It’s a pair that feels like it has a story—one that will blend into my daily life and gain character the more I wear it.
Konishi: The other “Elite Active” style was just as casual yet elegant as the clothes—it was truly lovely. It had a retro, cute ’70s-style design with a touch of sophistication; just wearing them instantly makes your everyday outfit look vibrant and special. They’re incredibly lightweight and comfortable to walk in, so I find myself wanting to wear them every day when I go out.
—Were there any items or styling choices from today’s shoot that particularly stood out to you?
Sera: I really loved the look of pairing a polo shirt with a track jacket. It combines a sporty vibe with a classic feel—it’s the kind of style that makes me want to try it myself.
Konishi: I was really impressed by the bag with a pleated skirt-like design. It has a high-quality feel to it, yet it seems like it would work perfectly as a “contrast piece” in a casual outfit, so I really wanted one.
—Now that you’ve had a chance to wear these pieces again, could you both share your thoughts on the appeal and impression of the *Lacoste* brand?
Sera: Sure, they’re still strongly associated with the “classic polo shirt” image, but both the clothes and the sneakers are incredibly durable and timeless. I really liked a polo shirt I bought in college and wore it for a long time, but I eventually passed it down to my younger brother. They have that kind of timeless durability—in a good way—that allows them to be passed down across generations. I also find it appealing that, while rooted in the tradition of tennis, the brand has a story that fits seamlessly into modern everyday life.
Konishi: It’s wonderful how it combines the approachability of sportswear with an air of elegance, isn’t it? It possesses a timeless beauty that isn’t swayed by trends or the times; it blends naturally into everyday wear, yet simply putting it on gives you a certain dignified presence. It perfectly balances the elegance cultivated over history with comfort, and I was reminded once again what a wonderful brand it is—one that makes my everyday outfits feel just a little bit special.
