Make the "summit" your best memory at the new BEAMS Village area.

What is even more noteworthy is the addition of a new area called "BEAMS Village" this year. The select store BEAMS has been working together with Tops since 2016, and the relationship between the two, which has been long in the making, has been pushed one step further, finally taking shape as an area.

The main contents of the event were a glamping experience limited to four couples using Nordisk's flagship Asgard tents, a workshop for weaving macrame cord to make wall decorations, and a loaner instant camera "Cheki" service in cooperation with FUJIFILM.

Mr. Taishi Maeda of BEAMS, one of the people behind the project, told us how the relationship between Tops and BEAMS developed and why they decided to establish a glamping area.

In what ways has BEAMS participated in "Tops" so far?

This time, you created a large scale content as "BEAMS Village". How did it all begin?

rice field in front of a temple's main hallTops" is a favorite event of ours, and we wanted more people to enjoy playing outside. We wanted more people to enjoy playing outside, so we decided to make this happen through the production of this space. We also felt that we had a lot in common with the staff of "TENNESSEE" in our past relationships, which also helped us to achieve this goal. Also, we have been working with the staff of "BEAMS" for the past several years, and we have been working with the staff of "TOTAMI" for the past several years.HAPPY OUTSIDEWe are also involved in a project called "BEAMS Village," which is designed for people to enjoy playing outside, and we are working hand in hand with "Tops" in this project.

With so many different approaches to outdoor play, why did you decide to do glamping?

rice field in front of a temple's main hallWe love the outdoors, too, and enjoy using the products in the store and actually using them in our personal lives. We want to share that enjoyment with our customers. We wanted to share that enjoyment with our customers. If we simply provide a space for people to enjoy themselves freely, there is no point in us doing it. Then, how do we express the "BEAMS" style? We came up with the idea of decorating the space with items we had selected and arranged according to our own ideas.

Nordisk's Asgard, with its high livability, has an attractive design with high ceilings that do not feel oppressive. Four adults can stay in the Asgard without feeling cramped.

The cot is from the "Buyer Maine Heritage Wood Cot. It features a simple, functional design reminiscent of good old-fashioned American camping equipment, and its sturdy, foldable construction is also attractive.

So, are all the items used here sold at BEAMS?

rice field in front of a temple's main hallNo, the glamping is composed of a selection of items that we have collected for this event. We are using items that we personally trust, and the contents of this project have been made possible with the cooperation of various manufacturers and brands.

Why did you go to the trouble of collecting items for this event, instead of using products from BEAMS?

rice field in front of a temple's main hallOf course, I can recommend "BEAMS" items with confidence, and I am willing to use them. However, the premise is that there is a "summit. We don't want to ruin the mood of the event by being too forward.

I see. You are aiming for harmony with the "summit" space.

rice field in front of a temple's main hallYes . How can we empathize with visitors who are enjoying the "summit"? And how can we make them even more impressed? I think that is the important point.

The Cheki SQ 6 is equipped with a wide-angle lens. By capturing not only the subject but also its background exactly, the photographer can capture the atmosphere of the scene. Another attractive feature of this camera is its various shooting modes, such as macro, far-field mode, and double exposure.

rice field in front of a temple's main hallOn the other hand, we have also invited "WOOD&KNOT.", a brand of decorative accessories made from macramé string, to participate in the workshops. In fact, a staff member of BEAMS manages this brand and has a deep knowledge of the outdoors, making this content an enjoyable way to create something for a more sensitive audience. Besides, visitors to "Summit" come from all walks of life, including young people, music lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families with children. We aimed to create a space where these people can enjoy themselves at their own pace.

He said that it is a place where everyone can enjoy themselves while assuming all kinds of things rather than imposing their own ideas.

rice field in front of a temple's main hall. Yes, that's right. . That's why I thought about many things when creating the interior of the glamping tent. The image I had in mind was that of a "hangout. When you are alone, or before going to bed, you can spend some time reading manga, or you can gather with others by setting a table in the center of the tent, or you can set up a side table that is perfect for doing your makeup in case there are female guests. . Anyway, we thought about all kinds of things to create a space that we were satisfied with.

In conjunction with the candlelight time on the stage, "BEAMS Village" was also decorated with candles. The scenery was fantastic.

You have really paid attention to details, such as the fact that people who are tired of sitting on the ground can sit on cots, and rugs are laid out to keep you cool.

rice field in front of a temple's main hallOf course, people who love the outdoors are welcome, but we have also devised ways for people who are not familiar with such activities to be able to enjoy them as well. We all came up with ideas on how to make the "summit" more enjoyable, and BEAMS Village was the result of our efforts.

Throughout the two days, the "BEAMS Village" was constantly crowded with people. And the four groups of people who experienced glamping also seemed to have had an even more comfortable and memorable festival experience. The demographics of those who used the service were varied, including women-only groups, families, advanced outdoor enthusiasts, and beginners. However, the one thing that all the groups said in unison was that they were comfortable and very satisfied with the experience.

When we talked to the women's group, we heard comments unique to women such as, "I was glad that I could use the iron and hair dryer I brought from home because I had heard beforehand that there were electrical outlets," and "This made me want to collect my own camping gear.

On the other hand, an outdoor beginner said, "I enjoyed it even if I didn't know anything about it. . I felt a sense of richness or a little bit of luxury. . It was also really fun to be able to talk with everyone in the tent at night in a cozy atmosphere. It was a great opportunity to learn about the charms of the outdoors," said one participant, whose senses were stimulated by the new experience.

. it was great to be so close to the stage. We could come home as soon as we got tired, and since we could hear the music from the stage, we could enjoy the performance while taking a break," said a family visitor. I didn't feel cramped at all, even with three adults and four children, and I wanted a Nordisk tent. I'm glad we can go home without setting up and cleaning up.

A group of advanced outdoor enthusiasts who brought their own equipment and enjoyed making original customizations to their glamping. They said, "Usually when I come to festivals, I feel like I'm camping to get a place to sleep, but this time we were already prepared, so we could enjoy both the music and camping in peace. I was so comfortable that I ended up staying longer than I should have on stage (laughs)," he said happily.

Many people were seen carrying around the Chekis they rented at BEAMS Village, and there was even a "waiting list" for all the cameras that had been prepared for rental. We also used the Chekis to make memories, and I have to say that instant cameras are fun to use. I think the atmosphere of the festival combined with such a feeling made everyone smile.

So, anyway, the two days of fun are over. Tops" is a festival where you can feel that you are a part of the festival while participating. Whether you just attended for one day or enjoyed the entire two-day event, there were so many other things to see and do. Whether you choose to attend for one day or to fully enjoy the festival for two days, you will want to keep your eyes peeled for what next year's event will have to offer.
