-Do you often come to Sagami Lake for bass fishing?
Shogo:I come here from time to time. I have a field in Doshi Village, and Sagami Lake is on the way, so I sometimes go fishing and then go to the field. But I have been slammed lately, so I haven't been here in a while.
-How is the bass fishing after all these years? It's muddy from yesterday's heavy rain and there is a lot of drifting debris. ......
Shogo: It's a little hard to do, but it's a lot of fun! Anyway, I'd love to catch one fish.
-Have you been bass fishing for a long time?
Shogo: . I have been playing since the 4th grade of elementary school. I was too busy with club activities when I was in high school, but I started fishing again in college. After I started modeling, I started going bass fishing with my model friends.
-Shogo, you also fish for other species besides black bass, don't you? What do you find interesting about bass fishing after having experienced various types of fishing?
Shogo: Lure selection is directly related to the catch, but the interesting thing is that there is no clear-cut right answer. I think this is similar to growing vegetables. You use this lure because it's this time of year ......, you sow seeds in this season, and give them this fertilizer. If you get into it right, it leads to a satisfying catch and harvest. There are theories, but your own sense is also important.
-I see. Indeed, you try while thinking, and you develop a sense of it while making many mistakes. It is the same in agriculture, isn't it?
Shogo: Also, weather is important for both fishing and farming. In fishing, when it rains, the fish are more active. In the field, seedlings are planted when it rains in order to create an environment where the seedlings can absorb enough water. . When I think about it again, fishing and farming have quite a lot in common.
-What else is there to say?
Shogo: Just as there are lures that I am good at, there are vegetables that I am good at growing. As you experiment with different varieties, you will find out what works well with you.
-It's interesting! Playing and working in both the city and nature . You must feel the goodness of each?
Shogo: I believe it is a good balance. . either the city or nature alone is not enough. I go back and forth between the two frequently, and I enjoy it every day. . I have hobbies that involve spending time in nature, such as fishing and mountain climbing, but farming is a different feeling.
-What's the difference?
Shogo: . I feel more freedom in the field than fishing or mountain climbing. . I can grow the vegetables I want, in the amount I want. Even when I go to the fields, I sometimes end up spending the day talking with local people, but that's OK. I am not a full-time farmer, so I try to have fun and interact with the local people. But the season doesn't wait for me, so I have to do what I have to do.
