Since its inaugural event in 2013, the “Three Peaks Yatsugatake Trail” has consistently been one of Japan’s most popular races and has been beloved by many trail runners. In recent years, participation from younger runners has increased, and the race—which enjoys support from a wide range of participants—began accepting entries for this year’s event on Monday, April 6.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, with a total of six categories. The lineup ranges from the “One Pack Line” (44 km total) to the “Attack Line” (24 km), as well as the vertical-style “Heliport Batchikoi” (a single, steep climb), the “Dog Pair” (available in both long and short distances) where you can run with your dog, and even the approximately 1 km “Kids Pair” category. Set against a natural backdrop, these two days promise fun for everyone from children to adults.
What’s more, the event features a variety of activities, such as a market and foot baths, making it an attractive event that not only participants but also their companions can easily enjoy.
By the way, entries for each category are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so the golden rule is to sign up right away once you decide to participate. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to fully enjoy the southern foothills of Mount Yatsugatake.
