Tokyo's leading creative collective.Youth Quakewho is also a member ofBobby YamamotoHe is an artist and expressionist. He is an artist and expressionist whose main works are based on colorful capsules, and he has also recently been performing on stage.
While his work is synonymous with colorful capsule motifs, his third solo exhibition in about two years, "Lack and Sufficiency," focuses mainly on black and white, black, and gray,[Claire] GUESS JEANS.The event will be held at "81 BELOW" on the basement floor of the flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo.
The year before last, my life changed dramatically with the birth of a new life.
While his days were filled with happiness, he distanced himself from production.
Looking back, the source of my creativity up to now has been a sense of lack, loneliness, and negative energy and sensations that I thought I was the only one feeling in the world.
In response to their growing sense of fulfillment, they begin to fear that they will no longer be able to express themselves and that they will lose who they are.
In order to gain something, you must lose something. With this in mind, I sometimes tried to force myself to lose the balance.
However, when I stopped trying to recover my lost past and turned my attention to the "present moment," I felt the urge to create again.
And I wanted to express that very state of being that was continually seeking lack.
In this exhibition, black and white, black and gray are the main colors used in many of the monochrome representations.
Instead of a capsule clearly painted in two colors as before, the boundary between the left and right sides blends ambiguously, changing to a gradation, marble pattern, or monochromatic expression.
It is also an expression of the state of zero, which is neither +( plus ) nor -( minus ), which we arrived at after continually seeking the answer or the correct answer.
The theme, "Lack and Fulfillment," refers to both the self that continued to pursue something lacking that was taken for granted and the self that felt the deep happiness and overflowing love that was touched for the first time.
And the two are not in opposition, but two sides of the same coin that still exist within me today.
Bobby Yamamoto's statement for this exhibition is enough to feel his worries and struggles. Lack and Fulfillment" may provide some insights for many people.
The fourth installment of a special limited-time program, in which buyers of GUESS JEANS denim products can have an artist's design printed on leather, will also be linked with the fourth installment of a special program featuring Bobby Yamamoto.
