In Tokyo’s traditional downtown neighborhoods, known for their thriving manufacturing industry, a division of labor is still practiced today. Each person specializes in a specific step of the process, and together they create a finished product.
When I heard about the collaborative event between “ATTITU” from Tsuchiya Bag Manufacturing—a company founded in Adachi Ward—and KINJO, an artist based in Arakawa Ward, I couldn’t help but recall that story.
From Saturday, July 18, through Sunday, July 26, an event will be held at “Attitude Kamakura,” featuring the limited-quantity release of hand-painted backpacks, as well as an exhibition and sale of artwork. Of course, each piece is one-of-a-kind. Since each one is hand-painted individually, the finished products have a truly special feel.
Card Case ¥ 19,800
Mini Wallet ¥25,300
In addition, during the event, stores will be offering pre-orders in limited quantities for the new leather card cases and mini wallets, as well as popular items that are currently sold out in the online store. Kamakura is about to enter a lovely season. Be sure to check it out!
