And just the other day, a talk event centered on the photo book *Hiroshima 1958* was held.

"Hiroshima 1958" is a collection of photographs taken by French actress Emmanuelle Riva during breaks from filming the 1958 movie "Hiroshima Mon Amour" (Japanese title: "A 24-Hour Affair") while she was visiting Hiroshima.

Thirteen years after the atomic bombing, this work captures the streets of Hiroshima—which was still in the process of reconstruction—and the daily lives of its residents with a quiet yet assured gaze.

At “THE STUDY,” the museum’s exhibition space, visitors can not only pick up and browse through this photo book but also view footage depicting Hiroshima at that time and explore exhibits related to *Hiroshima Mon Amour*.

The talk event featured Kengo Nakamoto, representative of “ref.”—the company behind “THE STUDY”—and Chihiro Minato, who served as the editor of the photo book. Speaking from their respective perspectives as the project’s planner and editor, they discussed the memories of Hiroshima conveyed in *Hiroshima 1958*.

The photographs included in *Hiroshima 1958* do not depict only special events.
