N. Hollywood and Brooks Brothers are teaming up again. They are releasing the second installment of their custom collection, featuring reissues of button-down shirts from the 1960s and earlier.

The button-down shirt is a staple of American shirtwear. This piece, a special commission by N.HOOLYWOOD for Brooks Brothers, invites us to take a fresh look at the origins of this classic shirt.

Following last year’s release, this second installment is based on a pre-1960s Brooks Brothers button-down shirt owned by Daisuke Obana, designer of N. Hollywood. While faithfully recreating the period’s construction methods and fabric texture, it has been tailored into a piece that easily fits into a modern wardrobe.

A distinctive feature is the back style, which combines a slim yoke with wide box pleats. It meticulously incorporates vintage details, such as the natural roll of the unstiffened collar and cuffs, small plastic buttons, and gussets at the deep side slits. Of course, it has six buttons. And the omission of the front pockets adds just the right touch.

Meanwhile, the silhouette features a relaxed fit with an oversized overall cut. The hem is finished with a gently curved, rounded cut, and the soft Oxford fabric has been post-processed to create a slightly puckered, vintage-inspired soft texture. Available in three sizes—16–34, 17–34, and 18–34—this design invites you to enjoy a generously cut, distinctly American silhouette. It is available in white only.
