Sandals are synonymous with summer, but the casual sandal brand 〈SUBU〉’s season is just getting started. Based on the concept “Winter Evolution — THE WINTER EVOLUTION —,” a winter sandal collection that incorporates the styles of all kinds of footwear—including loafers, geta, sneakers, and ballet flats—will go on sale starting Friday, October 9.

We continued our research for 10 years.
"Do people really need sandals in winter?"—
In response to a question no one ever asked.
The evolution of footwear has gone hand in hand with human history.
We have rolled up grass, woven leather, and used fur to keep out the cold.
Shoes have evolved over time and eventually became a means of fashion and self-expression.
However, no matter how advanced civilization becomes,
“The very idea of ”wearing sandals in winter” was something that had long been absent from the history of evolution.
So we formulated a hypothesis.
──If you have footwear that lets you enjoy the cold rather than just endure it,
Perhaps winter brings us more freedom.
And after repeated prototyping and refinements, SUBU took shape over the course of 10 years.
Insulation, comfort, and a design that lets you walk outdoors.
All of this was an evolution toward a future of comfort and relaxation.
Now, we have reached a conclusion.
SUBU is more than just a pair of sandals.
This product redefines the winter season, starting from your feet.
This marks a “winter turning point” in the evolution of footwear.

To celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary, a pop-up event themed “Thank You for Wearing Our Shoes” will be held.
