To mark our 20th anniversary, we are launching a commemorative collection in collaboration with the American bicycle brand . What’s more, the lineup—which includes a reissue of handlebars and water bottles—is sure to delight fans.

The highlight is the “Steamroller,” a classic model from Surly and one of the first models “Blue Lug” ever sourced from the brand. It’s a frame that holds a special place in their hearts and is indispensable to any discussion of track bikes and single-speed bikes.

This time, based on a vote by the “Blue Rag” staff, the “Boston Baked Beans” color—which was used in 2011—was chosen as the base color. A brake outer guide, which wasn’t included back then, has been added, and the bike has been named “Frank and Beans.” Thanks to a thoughtful gesture from Surly, the original decals have also been updated. What’s more, it comes with a delightful bonus: a special edition sticker pack.

Among the many types of bicycles, the single-speed holds a unique place. Because it has fewer parts, troubleshooting and maintenance are relatively easy, and the “Steamroller” boasts the durability typical of chromoly steel, capable of withstanding years of use. Although it’s a classic model, there have been no new releases in recent years, making it difficult to find—so if you’re interested, it’s best to grab one while you still can. In addition, the lineup includes a 20th-anniversary water bottle and a set of pins and patches. This collection, which celebrates this milestone, is true to the spirit of “Blue Lug,” which has long worked alongside to share the joy of cycling.

The in-store release date is November 2 (Monday), which marks the founding anniversary of “Blue Rag” and was designated in 2020 by Paul of as “International Singlespeed Day” to celebrate singlespeed bikes. It appears that online sales will begin on November 8 (Sunday).
