“Under the theme ”Bridging Design and Craft,” the “fennica” label from BEAMS showcases outstanding design and craftsmanship from around the world. It offers a wide range of lifestyle goods, from tableware and home decor to apparel and food.
From *Fenica*, a special collection created in collaboration with Tendo Mokko to commemorate the 50th anniversary of *BEAMS* is set to be released.
Left: Ring Stool Mini ¥59,400; Right: Kashiwado Chair Miniature Model ¥110,000
This project, which focuses on the history and techniques of Tendo Mokko’s furniture making as well as the daily lives of its artisans, features a limited-edition model inspired by the ring stools used in the factory and a specially produced miniature version of the “Kashiwado Chair.” Each item is limited to 50 pieces.
The “Ring Stool Mini” was inspired by the ring stools used by factory workers as seats or tool rests. It’s versatile—you can sit on it or use it to hold items. Its compact size means it won’t take up much space and should blend seamlessly into any room.
The “Kashiwado Chair” was designed in 1961 by Isamu Kenmochi—a designer who laid the foundation for Japanese Modernism—while he was working on the interior design of the Atami Garden Hotel. The chair’s name originates from the fact that it was later presented to Kashiwado, a renowned sumo wrestler from Yamagata Prefecture, to commemorate his promotion to yokozuna. For this special release, we have created a miniature version of the “Kashiwado Chair.” Crafted using the same manufacturing process as the original, it features a beautiful wood grain pattern.
Kashiwado Chair T-shirt ¥7,920, Corporate Logo T-shirt ¥7,920, Logo Tote Bag ¥5,500 each, Factory Tour Cap ¥4,950 each, Kashiwado Chair Large Pin Badge ¥2,750, Collaboration Logo Badge Set ¥1,980
The lineup also includes a variety of collaborative items, such as caps—based on factory tour caps and reimagined as fashion accessories from a perspective unique to *Fenica*—as well as T-shirts, tote bags, and pins. These items will be available at Tendo Mokko’s “Tokyo Showroom & Store” and its “Headquarters Showroom & Store” in Yamagata.
In addition, on Saturday, November 7, we will host a special talk event featuring a guest from the Kenmochi Design Institute, along with staff from Tendō Mokkō. For details,〈Fenica〉 InstagramApparently, announcements will be made as needed.
