Harajuku's "VACANTThis spring, the "HARAJUKU CINEMA CLUB," a lecture event that knocks on the door to the endlessly fascinating world of film, will begin at the "HARAJUKU CINEMA CLUB" with new-age cinephiles ( and film enthusiasts ) as storytellers.
Prior to the event, a talk event "Cinefil Quartet" will be held by four cinephiles, who will serve as navigators of the event, and will give us a chance to learn how to love films and enjoy them more deeply.
That cinephile has probably heard your name at least once if you are a movie buff.
Hiromi Machiyama is a broadcaster of popular variety shows and writes film columns for GINZA magazine and other publications , and is also the author of the book "The Great Meaning of Cinema: The Critical Review of Film Techniques by Jun Hirose" ( published by Film Art, Inc. in 2017. Jun Hirose, who critiques film techniques from the perspective of ethics and politics, published "Cinema no Daigyo: Hirose Jun Eiga Ronshu" (The Great Meaning of Cinema: Jun Hirose's Film Essays) ( Film Art, Inc. ) in 2017. Junko Gosho, who writes from a unique perspective and style that mixes essay/creation/criticism, and has published a series of articles, "Parallel Lines in Film," on the i-D Japan web. Keisuke Keywada, author of "100 Movies for Everyone" (( Okura Publishing )), which has become a hot topic among young people, and a writer for POPEYE magazine and other publications.
In the first half of the talk, each of the speakers will introduce and comment on a scene from a favorite movie to give a taste of how each cinephile views movies. The second half of the talk will be a roundtable discussion among the four, focusing on the theme of "How did you learn to see movies?
With the birth of subscription services and the ever-changing environment surrounding movies, how do cinephiles from different backgrounds and styles approach movies? This is sure to contain wisdom for a deeper enjoyment of movies. Perhaps it is the reason for launching this event to uncover this wisdom.
