Rimowa is synonymous with aluminum suitcases. Its mature and lean shape has attracted many travelers.
This time, "AS SEEN BY," a world traveling exhibition focusing on such masterpieces, will be held in Tokyo.
The participants included contemporary artists, creative studios, and industrial designers. Rimowa provided them with grooved aluminum sheets and spare parts to create unique works of art. Let's take a look at the works to be exhibited.
AS SEEN BY" has been held in Miami, South Korea, Hong Kong, Milan, and Beijing, starting with Paris, and now it is Tokyo's turn.
One of the features of each location is the addition of works by artists from the host country. In Tokyo, works by Yusuke Seki and Jiro Nagase will be unveiled.
For those of you who are seeing their names for the first time, Mr. Seki is an architectural designer responsible for the hotel "KUMU Kanazawa" in Kanazawa and the coffee shop "OGAWA COFFEE LABORATORY" in Setagaya, while Mr. Nagase is an up-and-coming metal worker who creates works using aluminum.
In conjunction with the exhibition, works by "Doublet," which were presented in last year's "Vol. 1" charity project by "Rimowa," will also be on display.
The venue is the event space "Batsu Art Gallery" near Omotesando Station. During the event, some of the works will also be on display at the "Rimowa Store Omotesando".
