With demand for travel returning, one brand that is on the upswing is Rimowa. In recent months, Rimowa's directly managed stores have been selling suitcases at a tremendous rate.
The exhibition "SEIT 1898" will be held to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Rimowa brand. This exhibition traces the history of Rimowa from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries through its precious archives.
In addition to the changes in the shape of travel bags as the means of transportation has changed, the evolution of suitcases is introduced in an easy-to-understand manner, including materials such as aluminum and polycarbonate, which are now commonplace, the iconic Groove design, and multi-wheels that enable smooth movement.
That's not all there is to see. Personal belongings of world-renowned artists, representative collaborations, and works created for special events are also on display. Please take a look at the following to get an idea of how amazing it is.
In addition, there will be other participatory contents for visitors to enjoy.
The event will be held from Friday, June 9 to Sunday, June 18. The venue is the event space "Yodobashi J6 Building" (former Jing) near Harajuku Station. Admission is free, though,Reservations through a special websiteIt is recommended to make a reservation. During busy times, those with reservations will be given priority.
Why do people travel? Now that the Corona disaster is over and we can once again travel to various parts of the world, this exhibition may ask us the meaning of travel.
