Effortless style proposed by Yuta Kaji. VOL.2 YU (I Don't Like Mondays.)

HAWKINS, named after its founder George Thomas Hawkins, was born in London in the 19th century. With its roots in the manufacture of military and work boots, Hawkins is widely known around the world for its durable and practical footwear. After the explosive popularity of the "Traveler Series" in Japan in the 1990s, the brand is now once again attracting attention amid a trend of reissue and reevaluation. The new "Liam Series" is a modern update of the spirit of such a brand. Combining the presence of classic work boots with functionality such as waterproofing and cushioning, it has emerged as a new standard that accompanies you in your daily life. So, for this issue, stylist Yuta Kaji, who proposes fashion with an effortless sense of style, expressed the appeal of these boots through his own filter. The guest model for the second issue is YU from the rock band "I Don't Like Mondays.

Style 01: A monotone style that plays with the size of a classic.

YU has a cool and sophisticated image, so we styled her in a monotone color scheme. That is why, even in monotone I was conscious of playing with silhouettes and materials.

First, Mr. Kaji proposes a leather jacket paired with wide silhouette slacks. The casual yet sophisticated impression is achieved by wearing a standard item in a modern size.

When I thought about the character of Mr. YU, the first thing that came to mind was this leather jacket. I think that's where we started to coordinate. Even a standard style can be made to look fresh by playing with the size.

And for the feet, we selected "Liam Lace" by G.T. Hawkins. This is a pair of classic work shoes updated for town use.

The entire shoe has a thick boxy silhouette, so the Liam laces are perfect for tightening the look around the foot. They don't make a loud statement, but they give the shoe a strong presence.
