Before the performance, Eito Ohkita, the leader of the group, Yasunao Yoshida of Triple Fire vo. who also performs, and Jumu Kawada, the eldest of the three AR brothers, who professes to be a fan of Tomorrow's AR, gathered together. They talked about the humor they pursue in their respective activities and this performance over dinner.

paddy fieldHow is the writing of the script coming along?
Great North JapanIt's going well, but it's taking a long time. Interesting things don't really become interesting unless you take time. ...... How do you write lyrics, Yoshida-kun?
Yoshida.I don't do things until the very last minute, so I guess it's like I'm driven into a corner and pull an all-nighter.
paddy fieldYou said: you don't write down ideas.
Yoshida.I've never been able to use it well. I still don't know how to make it.
paddy fieldI wonder why the band doesn't do that. I wonder why Contrast doesn't do that.
Great North JapanI'm not sure if it's simply that I don't have a place to present my work. If I were invited to a music event, I would gladly do it.
Yoshida. Are you doing it as if you are saying, "I'm going to do something interesting"?
Great North JapanI call myself a "comedian," and I do it in the sense that I try to be funny. I don't think it's the same as being funny in the sense of a comedian.
paddy fieldWhen you write a song, do you do it with the intention of making it "popular" for a few millimeters?
Yoshida.I guess that's the way it turned out. When I write lyrics, I want them to be meaningless, and I use interesting elements as a tool to achieve that.
Great North JapanJumu: Do you usually create your works with laughter and humor in mind?
paddy fieldI try to put laughter and humor into my work. But I am not in the mood to show something I have made up on stage. Basically, I think of it as creating a structure and then showing humor on the premise of showing it.
Great North JapanWhen it was Yoshida's turn to perform at the live concert, the audience was laughing a lot.
Yoshida. No, if it was a one-man show, no one would be laughing anymore.
Great North Japan: Oh, those who have listened too much (laughs).
paddy field: Triple Fire's customers are a special kind of people. You like them, but I think they think if you really like them or knock on their door, you lose. Even the fans call you "Yoshidaaaa" or something like that. That's not the way a respected vocalist should be (laughs).
Yoshida.I call him "Hiroto" or "Hiroto" or something.
paddy fieldI see, it was a Blue Hearts sensation!
Yoshida.I don't know: it's kind of different from that feeling, though. Maybe they call me with the feeling of being junior.
Great North Japan: fan to junior sensation! Amazing. You don't stand on top, you go down (laughs).
Triple Fire Yoshida and all the other interesting people we met this year.
paddy fieldI'm sure that Yoshida-kun is going to be there, right? It'll be interesting to see.
Great North JapanYoshida-kun is very late joining us for practice due to family reasons.
Yoshida.I'm going to help my parents with their work. I just said I was leaving, but I haven't done anything yet.
Great North JapanYoshida-kun: Have you ever done any acting before?
Yoshida.I did it when I was in elementary school, or something like that.
paddy field: Will you do what you were supposed to do in the first place? (Laughter).
Yoshida.: Well, I think that's the way it's supposed to be.
paddy fieldWhy did you tell Yoshida-kun to leave?
Great North JapanI think that Yoshida-kun and Hanaike-kun of "Left and Right" are overwhelmingly interesting in their appearance (laughs). (laughs) So, to be honest, I don't need to be able to act at all.
paddy fieldI'm very happy to hear that Mr. Hanaike, from the left and right, not only performs as an actor, but also plays live music. It's getting more gorgeous every year, isn't it?
Great North JapanI'm going to invite a lot of interesting people this year. Oiko Koga, who does the Lenching Video with me on Poo-Poo TV, will be on the show. She asked me to do it because she was in the drama club in high school (laughs). (Laughs.) We also asked Yoshi Marushin, who designs our flyers, to be in the show as well.
paddy fieldYoshiimaru: What made you decide to leave?
Great North JapanWhen I asked him to appear in the after talk before, one of the performers said, "YOSHIMARU-san is strange. It's like we're asking a strange person to appear on the show (laughs).
Yoshida.: There are not many actors in tomorrow's ar...
Great North JapanI am planning to have these three work at full capacity since there are only three of them: Miyabe, Yagi, and Gouda.
paddy fieldAnd the butoh dancer, Taiyo Tochiaki, has an unusual presence at every show. He has a smooth, vivid, and lewd presence. I like Mr. Tochiaki.
Great North JapanHe was a dancer for about 10 years in a world-class butoh group called Sankai Juku, but when he talks, he is just an ordinary gentle person.
Yoshida.: You look scary when you're angry. ......
paddy field: (laughs). The model 7A also has a mysterious presence, doesn't she?
Great North JapanI like that you don't know what you're talking about! Some people say, "I like the way he doesn't really know what he's talking about, in a good way. He is a very smart person, but I often get the feeling that he is like a relative's child at a family gathering, "Go away and play" (laughs).
paddy fieldI know, I know. Also, since the company's debut, there have been many famous web writers such as Fujiwara, Tsuchiya Yu, Sumi, and others. I was under the impression that people who have their own style in their articles and have a certain air about them can also carry the air of their writing style when they appear on stage in a role.
Great North JapanI was thinking about the fact that I had to leave the show this time because I couldn't remember my lines very well, but then Mr. Miyabe asked me if I could lose my lines (laughs).
paddy fieldI don't know if I have a role like that (laughs).
Great North JapanI think there is a John Cage (*the man in "4 Minutes 33 Seconds" who doesn't play the piano) type role where he is on stage but doesn't do anything (laughs). The theater people who saw Mr. Fujiwara for the first time were astonished, saying that he was a "rarely seen bar reading" (laughs).
paddy fieldI was already looking like "I've been doing this for a long time" from the very first performance. It didn't feel like a banner launch (laughs). That was part of the "A-ness" of it.
Are comedy and comedy for comedians?
paddy field:ar is turning into a "theater company" in terms of numbers, isn't it? What do they call themselves?
Great North JapanWe are a "comedy unit. But there has always been the problem of "what to call ourselves." We don't have the guts to call ourselves a theater company, and when you say "comedy unit," the first thing that comes to mind is a comedian.
Yoshida.: When I went to see the show after I heard it was a contraption, I thought that Tomorrow's Ar was different from the contraptions I had seen before, or rather, it was unique. ......
paddy fieldYoshida: From your point of view, did you feel that it was different from what you had seen?
Yoshida.I think it's not just about making people laugh.
paddy fieldI think it's more like a "Tokyo comedy" from my point of view. ...... I don't know, it's more like a play, and it's not just about making people laugh.
Great North JapanI think "conte" originally meant "a short play to make people laugh," but now it brings comedians to mind.
paddy fieldI think that comedians are like athletes. They shout loudly and get results in terms of "records". There are people who are funny even though they don't have the distance, but I feel that the way of output, the volume, and the intensity of color of the fun is different from what Mr. Ohkita is doing.
Great North JapanI thought about this when I watched rakugo: it's a classic, simple gag, but it makes me laugh. When they do it at the right time, with a loud voice and physicality, I laugh as a reflex.
Yoshida.I laugh, but I'm not sure if I think it's very funny or not.
Great North JapanI think it's like, "Wah ha ha, that's not funny" (laughs). Another difference from comedians is whether or not they say "Vienna" when an automatic door opens. The shortest way to get a laugh is for a comedian to say, "I think I'll go into a coffee shop, Vienna. But there is no one like that in real life.
paddy fieldI'm not going to do that.
Great North JapanI was talking about it at the Teatro Comic Talk, but I thought I wouldn't do it. I thought we would lose something.
paddy fieldWhat is lost is the imagination of the audience. What is lost is the audience's imagination.
Great North Japan: Sure, there may be a reduction in things like richness. My feeling is that I want to stay away from real life, but I don't want to be an automatic door ween. It's a matter of trial and error.
paddy fieldI'm sure you've been writing for Daily Portal Z for many years, but do you change gears when you're a writer and when you're a contrarian?
Great North Japan: The basics are the same, though. The Tomorrow's Ar is just trying to make myself laugh as hard as I can. It's like doing "Theoretical Physics." I'm doing something genuinely funny.
We are witnessing a "certain" Cambrian period.
paddy fieldShogo and Junko" was also performed this year.
Great North Japan: I had a place to write a long one, so I tried to shorten the ar. Since we filled the important parts of the drama with stupid things, the basic way of making the drama didn't change.
paddy fieldI enjoyed seeing a long piece of comedy that made me think, "I wish I could watch this all the time.
Great North JapanShogo and Junko are no exception. It's not so much that it's "common," but it's remarkable. For example, "I want to eat grilled meat over charcoal" on the signboard of Gyukaku.
Yoshida.I never paid attention to that word: I never paid attention to that word (laughs). At first I had no idea what he was talking about.
Great North JapanI see (laughs).
paddy fieldNo, but I think that the contrast (*copying another person's feelings of liking) is quite critical. Text information has meta-information attached to the text information, and when you copy and paste, that meta-information is attached to the text information. When copying and pasting, some meta-information may or may not be included, but the text is still the same.
Yoshida. No - but isn't that a bit too much of a lucky break? I want to eat grilled meat on a charcoal fire. It's a strange interpretation of a certain thing (laughs).
paddy fieldYoshida-kun, if you are going to appear in tomorrow's show, you should read the "Aru Aru" page of "Ohokita Pedia". It's definitely different from what we know.
Great North JapanI think it's more of a "future thing" or a "future thing" than a certain thing for everyone (laughs).
paddy field: There is a Cambrian period (laughs).
Yoshida. It's addictive once you get the hang of it.
The uncanny valley and Omoshiro Hill.
Great North Japan: Last year's "Cat's Future Projection II" tried to write a lot about the future, didn't it?
paddy field: What, so it's not the future this time?
Great North JapanI wanted to tell a story about the present. I titled the album "The Surface of Japan" because I thought that the "aru aru" is often found at the very top of Japan. However, there are also a lot of futuristic stories. Humor intervenes when new things are not familiar to people.
paddy field: I know, I know. I was wondering if there was something to the opposite of the uncanny valley.
Great North Japan: the reverse of the uncanny valley: ...... Omoshiro no Hills? (LOL).
paddy fieldI think: I think there is a hill of omoshiro, I really, really, really think.
Great North Japan: hahahahaha (laughs). If you go over this hill, the fun will end...! I mean?
paddy field: Yes, I think the valley and the hill are a set. They are a set, but I don't think people in the world know it yet. It makes me laugh when I write it down (laughs).
Great North JapanI think it's a bit like the uncanny valley that exists in theater, where things get weirder and weirder as you start to work on a play a little bit. Mr. Miyabe and Mr. Yagi are completely out of the valley, but writers Mr. Tsuchiya and Mr. Fujiwara are in their third year, so they are getting a little better. They are gradually getting into the uncanny valley (laughs).
paddy fieldI'm having a hard time and I'm very concerned about it. I have not yet found the hill of fun, and I am in a swamp of frustration (laughs).
Great North Japan: Let's all go to Omoshiro Hill and have a picnic with sandwiches (laughs).
paddy field: Once again, what is this ar going to be like?
Great North JapanI'm going to be talking with Yoshida-kun, Hanaike-kun, and many other interesting people I've met so far, so it will be like the final episode of Black Jack (laughs). (Laughs) We will have a lot of people on the stage, and we will do a short talk that can only be enjoyed now. Last year we did a Facebook spam comedy, but people have already forgotten about that. It would be nice if we could do that every year.
paddy fieldI had read about what Ohkita-san had done, and I had seen the videos, but I was most impressed by his comedy. I thought, "Oh, this person was born to be a contortionist," and I thought that anyone who can set a 100m record should compete in the 100m, and in Ohkita's case, it was a contortionist. I am looking forward to this year's "Surface of Japan.
