How an editor uses a furoshiki.

We commissioned Rajabrooke to create the "Editor's Furoshiki." So, here are some examples of how to use it in four situations that are all too familiar to editors (?). We hope these tips will give you some ideas on how to make the most of it. The pre-release sale will be held on Saturday, April 18, at “PBOX STND” on the 10th floor of Shibuya PARCO, as part of the “Fuinam Spring Market: New Lifestyles, New Things”!

One of the seven essential tools on a film set.

〈Rajabrook〉 × “Fuinam” Furoshiki ¥11,000,Shell ¥24,200 (Rhino), plus items from the stylist and editorial staff's personal collections

To ensure they’re prepared for anything that might happen on set, editors need to have a variety of items on hand. This includes not only materials like shooting storyboards and call sheets, but also scissors for trimming tags and loose threads, tape for lining the soles of shoes, and clips and safety pins for making minor adjustments to clothing sizes. And on location, it’s even better to have a furoshiki like this to protect models and cameras from the sun or sudden rain. An editor who’s prepared for even the “Wait, you need that too?” moments is a truly capable editor. After all, there are times when you don’t have an umbrella.

This furoshiki has such a powerful water-repellent finish that you can use it to scoop up water just like a bucket. It’s perfect for protecting your laptop or camera like this. Keeping yourself dry in the rain is a distant second—or even third—priority!

When you're not using it, you can just wrap it around your waist—unlike an umbrella, it doesn't take up any space. Editors need to be light on their feet and move faster than anyone else. So maybe a furoshiki is the best solution after all, rather than an umbrella!?
