How an editor uses a furoshiki.

We commissioned Rajabrooke to create the "Editor's Furoshiki." So, here are some examples of how to use it in four situations that are all too familiar to editors (?). We hope these tips will give you some ideas on how to make the most of it. I messed up!! Even then.

While we certainly don’t want it to happen too often, everyone has moments when they think, “I’ve really messed up!” When that happens, the most important thing is to offer a sincere apology. Even editors who usually work in casual attire put on a jacket and pants suit just for this occasion. And don’t forget to bring a box of sweets as a token of apology. Seeing the sweets carefully wrapped in a furoshiki cloth might just help ease the other person’s anger a little…? By the way, the suit I’m wearing is also from a past collaboration: the “EDITORS JACKET” and “EDITORS TROUSERS” from the × ‘Fuinam’ collection.

Take the gift out of the furoshiki and present it only after your apology has been accepted. This is an ironclad rule. You must never, ever try to resolve the situation with a gift alone! Of course, it’s useful for more than just apologies. For example, if you wrap a gift in a furoshiki when visiting your girlfriend’s parents“ home, her father might think, ”Oh, he’s a thoughtful guy!”
