She was scouted in her hometown of Oita Prefecture when she was 15. “I didn’t know my right from my left,” recalls Nana Mori, looking back on those days. Now, 10 years later, she has become one of Japan’s leading actresses. Wearing a mountain parka from THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL, she returned to Shinjuku, the city of her memories. Amid changing scenery and unchanging memories, she reflected on her past self as we documented her daily life.

Nana Mori / Actress

Born on August 31, 2001, in Oita Prefecture. She made her entertainment debut in 2016 and gained widespread attention after being cast as the voice of the heroine in Makoto Shinkai’s 2019 film *Weathering With You*. In 2020, she won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 44th Japan Academy Film Prizes for her role in Shunji Iwai’s *Last Letter*. Since then, she has appeared in the NHK morning drama *Yell*, as well as the TV dramas "Will This Love Warm You?", "Maiko-san's Kitchen", and "Hirayasu", as well as the films "Last Letter", "First Kiss", "Frontline", and "5 Centimeters Per Second". For her role in *National Treasure*, she won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 49th Japan Academy Film Prize. Her latest film, *Enjo*, in which she stars, is currently in theaters.
