Planter or art piece, that is the question.
When I visited the United Kingdom in July this year, I bought several items at Momosan Shop, a lifestyle store featuring sundries and tableware from Japan and many other countries. I then looked them up and found that they were all made by American artists. I see, we are the poster children of American culture. We are all immersed in American culture, even to our subconscious level. Maybe that's why I was attracted to this planter on a subconscious level. It was created by Melissa and her husband Jonathan in Illinois, in the central part of the U.S., then moved to Portland, Eugene, and New York, and is now being made in Los Angeles. I like the earthy look, which is typical of the U.S., especially the West Coast, and the clay pipe-like form of Mario (in the days of the NES) and the snoring peculiar to handmade products are cute. However, since I am a convicted felon who once killed a cactus, I am not sure whether to use it as a planter or an art piece.
