4 things you need to know about MACPAC VOL.4 A secret long seller. Why is the MACPAC child carrier so popular?

In this four-week series, we will focus on four things you need to know about MACPAC. In the final week, we will focus on "child carriers," one of the most popular products in the series. A child carrier is a backpack that allows you to carry a small child on your back, and of all the outdoor brands, "Mack Pack" is one of the best. We asked Kenichi Oshima, a father of one who works at the creative agency "Green Room," to try out the new "Bummus Neo" to see the appeal of this product.

Mr. Oshima, the art director of "Green Room," is a father of a one-and-a-half year old boy who is well versed in outdoor culture, including outdoor festivals and camping events. We first asked Mr. Oshima, who is often involved in many activities as part of his work, about his own lifestyle.

Oshima Island"I have always liked going to the beach, camping, and doing things that allow me to feel nature. Ideally, I would like to be able to enjoy work and play at the same time, without separating the two. Since the birth of my child, spending time with my family has become the most important thing for me, and I genuinely enjoy it. Since my child is still young, we often just go for walks around the neighborhood, but I would like to go to the beach, camping, and do lots of outdoor activities with my family soon.

On her days off, Ms. Oshima goes for walks with her children and plays in the neighborhood park. She says that traveling with her children is often surprisingly difficult.

Oshima IslandI have a stroller or a baby carrier. There are products that allow me to carry my baby in front of me or on my back, and I am currently using them. Strollers are also comfortable, but to be honest, they are often difficult to use in Tokyo. Especially on trains, you have to be careful. So I often feel inconvenienced when I move around with my child. In that sense, child carriers are probably a good match for urban life. If it is a freestanding model, you can drop the child off on the train, and it seems to be compatible with a car. Besides, my child is small now, and I often take him or her out to play within walking distance, so if I can carry him or her on my back, I can take him or her on a short trip and show him or her all the different things I see.

When choosing a product, Oshima says that what is important to him is "something that can be used for a long time, has functionality, and is something that I really like. In this respect, the child carrier matches his own style.

Oshima Island: The style is basically the same on/off for work, play, outdoor activities, etc. More to the point, my ideal outfit would be something that looks like it's from the city, but has proper functionality. In that respect, I think it matches my style. Even if it makes it easier to travel with my child, I wouldn't want it if it didn't have the same functionality and design (laughs). When I first saw the size, I wondered how it would look on the street. But I think there are many advantages, because it looks comfortable for the child and, above all, it frees up my hands. I was surprised at how comfortable it is to carry and how stable it is. The fact that the backpack is detachable is also interesting. I am also interested in how much luggage it can hold. When my child gets a little older, I would like to pack it with all sorts of things and go out into nature.

The latest in child carriers, the BAMMUS Neo, incorporates know-how cultivated through over 30 years of pack production. It is comfortable for both mother and father to carry, and like the pack, it is durable and long-lasting. Of course, the comfort and safety of the child being carried is also taken into consideration. The main body has a detachable backpack that can easily hold a change of diapers and valuables. The bag is suitable for a wide range of activities, from everyday use to low-mountain trekking, making it an excellent companion for outdoor play.

In addition to a comfortable and breathable back structure, the body has a stand that allows it to stand on its own and a small zippered backpack that can hold a change of diapers and other essentials. It also comes with a somprero to reduce sun and unpleasant insect infestation, and a rainbow with a removable clear window to keep out the wind and rain while keeping the child's vision clear. ¥48,600+tax
