ba (Haitian dance music)In Barcelona, something that looked like bird droppings fell on my shoulder, and when I turned around, a shabbily dressed middle-aged man and woman gave me a tissue. I was not sure what was going on at that moment, but it seemed that they were trying to take something from me while pretending to help me with the bird shit on my shoulder. I understood what they were trying to do and got out of their hands, which saved my life.

young (animal)In January of 2008, two of our staff members were robbed by a pickpocket in the Paris subway. Both of them were robbed of their passports and wallets. One of them had put his passport on the bottom of his bag and his camera on top of it. However, he said that the camera was left in place and what was underneath it was snatched. It was the work of a professional, as if he was trying to avoid being detected by the change in weight. I wonder if the person who didn't notice the camera was being rummaged around in the bag was a professional, but I guess it's a job that requires a certain level of professionalism. It was the day before I was to return to Japan. I could not catch my scheduled flight.

There is a lot of dog shit on the streets, and shopping is not as affordable as it used to be due to the exchange rate against the Euro and rising prices. nextI tried to find "St. James" and "French Laco" in Paris, but no matter where I went, I couldn't find these items. In Tokyo, import stores (select stores, as they are called now, were not called in those days) usually sold these items, but in Paris, it was difficult to find them.
